MODULE 1 - INTRODUCTION
This first module recounts the history from which hospitality and tourism had first appeared. Reviewing history is important as it reveals the relationship between hospitality and the needs of different societies. As these societies evolve, so do their expectations of hospitality. The hospitality industry will need to change constantly with the times to be able to stay afloat and withstand the competition.
The module goes on to identify the basic components of the hospitality industry and their relationships, which builds an industry full of various career opportunities and exciting future development. The importance of service for the hospitality industry is also explained along with its connection in achieving guest satisfaction.
